Sharing rule
- Send .docx .xlsx .pptx or PDF unless the other person also runs WPS.
- Keep a Kingsoft-format original only if you need a feature that will not round-trip.
- CSV is not a workbook. Document the delimiter.
What to send other people
Send .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, or PDF unless they also run WPS Office. Keep .wps / .et / .dps only if you need a feature that will not round-trip. CSV is not a workbook - document the delimiter in the email.
WPS Office file compatibility list
Everyday sharing: .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .pdf. Writer also handles .doc, .rtf, .txt, and Kingsoft .wps. Spreadsheet handles .xls, .csv, and .et. Presentation handles .ppt and .dps. The Store listing adds HTML, e-books, and various query files - viewer-class, not a full Access studio.
What to send other people
Default to .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, or PDF. Kingsoft-only types are fine inside your own folder. They are a surprise on a client’s PC that only has Microsoft Office.
